Joint stiffness and discomfort is also a consequence of aging. With advancing age, there’s an increase in certain destructive cytokines (immune-modulating agents) that contribute to degenerative conditions. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF-alpha) is one such agent. This ArthroMax™ formula contains glucosamine sulfate along with a special Boswellia extract known as 5-LOXIN®. Glucosamine sulfate provides underlying structural foundation for joints while 5-LOXIN® inhibits the 5-lipoxygenase enzyme, thereby reducing levels of pro-inflammatory leukotriene B4.
Inflammatory reactions are regulated by a series of cytokines produced in the body. Normal aging results in an unfavorable balance of cytokines that contributes to persistent inflammatory conditions. New studies have shown that a special fraction isolated from black tea suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokines at the genomic level. Scientists have found that these compounds called theaflavins uniquely down-regulate the expression of genes and cytokines associated with inflammatory conditions.45
ArthroMax™ provides these bioactive theaflavin fractions, along with methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), which contains sulfur and methyl groups that are critically important in maintaining connective tissues such as tendons and cartilage. FruiteX B® OsteoBoron®, a patented form of boron identical to natural plant forms found in food and considered more bioavailable than other forms of boron, also supports healthy bones and joints.
