Rich Rewards™ Spicy Cruciferous Vegetable Soup
32 oz
Item Catalog Number: 01531

Processed food companies sell vegetable soups so cheaply because they load them with high-glycemic carbohydrates (rice, potatoes, pasta) that cost virtually nothing. Then they add inexpensive ingredients like corn, sugar, and sometimes omega-6 fats (like cottonseed oil). So for less than $2, you get a relatively high-carb/calorie soup that provides virtually no health benefits.

Life Extension's vegetable soups contain only healthy ingredients, extra-virgin olive oil, and a host of other beneficial plant foods.

These soups are packaged in a convenient resealable container that enables a precise amount of soup to pour into a bowl. The twist-top cap screws back on so the container can be placed into the refrigerator for the next serving. One reason these containers are used to hold these vegetable soups is that they are free of the Bisphenol-A found in commercial soup cans. The FDA says Bisphenol-A is safe, but Life Extension does not trust the FDA’s judgment on this issue.

Each serving of Spicy Cruciferous Vegetable Soup contains only 70 calories and provides a full serving of the world’s healthiest vegetables.

The entire container supplies about 3.5 servings — with none of the cheap starch fillers found in commercial soups. You can consume the entire contents as a healthy lunch or dinner, or use a smaller portion of the soup as part of a meal for yourself (or several other people).

This product is not for sale outside the United States and Canada.

When you include cruciferous vegetables in a soup it can make it bitter. This soup is not bitter. The reason it tastes "bland" to some is that there's not much salt in it. To me, that's the way prepared foods should always be. That way it can be as salty as you want. I feel very good about this soup, so I bought a case.

    Pretty much bland

Product is probably very healthy, however, the taste was extremely bland. It reminded me of unsalted tomato juice with chunks in it.

The soup was good, but there is a bit too much tomato in it. I wish there were more chunks of the vegetables. All in all we really did enjoy it and will buy it again. This fits in well with our high fruit and vegetable, low fat diet.

Comments about Life Extension Rich Rewards™ Spicy Cruciferous Vegetable Soup, 32 oz:

Straight from the container, it's just okay, and the fact that it's so healthy makes it worthwhile. Then it dawned on me that I could zest it up. To one entire container I added other of water, a small head of cabbage, cut in one inch or less chunks, 3 heaping Tablespoons of beef "Better than Bouillon", 1/4 C of minced dehydrated onions, 1/4 C of onion powder, 1 teaspoon sugar, 3/4 C of each, chopped fresh celery and sweet onions, one raw pork chop, cut into tiny pieces, and ~1/2 C frozen cooked beef fajita strips cut small. I simmered it until the cabbage was tender, and wow, what a difference! I freeze it in 2 Cup portions. Everyone who tastes it wants the recipe! And it only took a few minutes of work to bring it together, and around an hour of simmering to produce a hearty stew like flavor and consistency.

Adding more cruciferous vegetables and topping with shredded parmesan cheese makes this soup a hearty meal. yummmm..... Also, this soup is low in sodium but, high in flavor and made without any type of simple carbohydrate like pasta or white rice. Although, I would prefer that it have a tad more cruciferous vegetables, I have yet to find a soup as healthy anywhere else. Another added bonus is that it isn't canned and it comes in a BPA free container.
