New Zealand Whey Protein Concentrate
Natural Vanilla Flavor
520 grams (1.15 lb. or 18.34 oz.)
Item Catalog Number: 01770

As people age, they become more susceptible to muscle deterioration and a declining immune system.1,2 Fortunately, whey protein can have a positive impact on muscle construction and immunity due to its branched-chain amino acid profile (BCAAs) and naturally occurring lactoferrin and immunoglobins.3-5

Unlike many commercial brands on the market, New Zealand Whey Protein Concentrate is uniquely derived from grass-fed, free range cows living healthy lives in New Zealand and not treated with growth hormone (rBST).

Life Extension’s New Zealand Whey Protein Concentrate offers the following:

  • Non-GMO whey protein concentrate
  • Naturally high levels of essential branched-chain amino acids
  • High-quality muscle building protein
  • Easily mixes into water or milk
  • Great taste! Available in both natural chocolate and natural vanilla flavors.

I drink a 50 gm LEF protein shake before workout and one after workout. This powder digests well and tastes delicious. My son, a runner, has started using it also. He and I have tried other name brands of Whey Concentrate, and, we both think the other brands are just ok tasting, and some might not dissolve as well in water or almond milk. I like that it is a whole food supplement and derived from 100% grass fed milk. I love the addition of stevia. It provides a sweetener without adding sugar, and it's 100% natural. (I grow stevia in my garden for use in my tea, etc, and I don't have to add it to this shake.) I recommend this pritein to my workout coach and club owner whenever they ask about my diet. Thank you, LEF!

I mix whey into a large bowl of steel cut oats, walnuts, freshly ground flax seed, fruits, berries and 12 oz. of milk. I have used many other brands of whey with vanilla flavor and the vanilla taste was never overpowering. However, I find the taste LEF's vanilla-flavored New Zealand Whey to be overpowering. I have to use much less than the recommended amount to make the taste tolerable.

I hope that LEF either greatly reduces the amount of vanilla or offers a product with no added flavor.

I really like that this comes from cows that are grassfed and that aren't treated with hormones. However, I also avoid GMO corn, and I avoid things like modified food starch and maltodextrin. stevia (which I think increases my appetite) and "natural flavors." Please consider a version without these additives.

Hands down the old/other whey protein mix was better. This mix is a bit too gummy. Also has too much vanilla and or sweetener.

Yes, I would recommend it, but I prefer the old mix/product.

I was skeptical, but I feel more energetic, and my muscle soreness is less when I use this. I like both the choc and vanilla. I mix them into soymilk, and use it for a light meal.

I use the vanilla "New Zealand" Whey protein after a run or exercise.
For those of you who like cold coffee: Try Seattle's Best "Frozen Coffee" 8oz bag

4 oz Seattle's best "Frozen Coffee" (Coffee, Vanilla Coffee, Caramel, Mocha)
8 oz Diamond Almond Milk (30 calories)
1 scope of LEF Vanilla "New Zealand" Whey protein

Mix all together. I use the Bullet blender. I had trouble using protein shakes and now have two a day. The coffee mix provides the peep and the balance with the 22g of protein.

            Enjoy!

My therapist recommended increasing my protein intake to increase my neurotransmitters. Most protein powders required two scoops to get what this provides with one. I can carry a container of it with me and add water whenever I feel the need.

My only complaint is the sweetener Stevia. I don't know who thought this stuff up but I think only one person I've ever spoken to finds it acceptable. I find the aftertaste unbearable. Surely they can put something else in next time they make a batch. I stick with vanilla in case I want to throw in a piece of a banana or some blueberries for different taste.
