Fibrinogen
Item Catalog Number: LC001610
The fibrinogen test is used to detect suspected bleeding disorders or abnormal blood clotting. Traditionally this test is used to identify congenital (genetic) problems called afibrinogenemia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and elevated fibrinolytic activity.
Life Extension® has also identified fibrinogen as an independent risk factor for heart disease and ischemic stroke. An elevated blood level of fibrinogen increases your risk for coronary heart disease.
You can check your fibrinogen blood level with or without fasting. This test is also included in Dr. Lichten’s Cardiac Risk Factor Blood Test Panel. Take all medications as prescribed. Do not take your supplements the morning of the test.
