Gamma Glutamyl Transferase (GGT)
Item Catalog Number: LC001958
GGT (gamma glutamyl transpeptidase) is an enzyme produced by the liver. It is used by doctors to diagnose obstructions in the biliary system, pancreatitis and liver disease. GGT may also be elevated in liver and pancreatic cancer as well as alcoholism. It is also used as a marker for tumor progression and to evaluate response to treatment.
GGT is often used in conjunction with ALT and AST to better evaluate liver function. Fasting for 8-12 hours is required. This test is included in the Life Extension Male and Female panels. Take all medications as prescribed. Do not take your supplements the morning of the blood draw.
