Cancer antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) is a protein produced by normal and cancerous cells. It is typically used to monitor breast cancer progression and reoccurrence.

CA 15-3 can also be elevated in some non-cancerous conditions such as liver disease, sarcoidosis, and lupus as well as other forms of cancer. Cancer Antigen 15-3 is not intended as a screening test.

Your CA 15-3 level can be checked with or without fasting. Take your medications as prescribed.
