Deoxypyridinoline (DPD) Cross Link Urine Test
Item Catalog Number: LC511105
The deoxypyridinoline (DPD) urine test can be used to measure bone re-absorption rates in healthy individuals and in those with enhanced risk of developing metabolic bone diseases.
Significantly high levels of DPD are found in post-menopausal women due to estrogen deficiency, and in individuals with diseases that have high bone turnover rates. Deoxypyridinoline can be used to monitor therapies (which may include bisphosphonate drugs) in people diagnosed with osteoporosis.
The deoxypyridinoline (DPD) is a urine test and a single sample should be collected before 10 a.m. The test is not included in any other urine panel offered by Life Extension®.
Fasting is not required. Take all medications as prescribed. Do not take supplements the day of the test.
