In the July issue of Life Extension, we published a profile of Deborah Szekely, the owner and cofounder of Rancho la Puerta. In the article, the sidebar titled, “A Lifetime of Life Extension” may have given the impression that Ms. Szekely exclusively uses Life Extension supplements. That was not our intention and we deeply apologize for any misunderstanding. As Ms. Szekely stated in a letter to us, “When I take supplements my choices encompass a wide variety of products and manufacturers other than Life Extension.”

We published this profile out of great admiration for Deborah Szekely and her pioneering work in the field of health and as an instrument of education and change toward a longer and healthier life. Our deepest apologies to Ms. Szekely for the wording of the sidebar.

Cardiac Collaboration

Cardiac Collaboration

I read with great interest your article on EECP (enhanced external counterpulsation) in the June issue as a therapeutic option for people with congestive heart failure. Interesting, none of my doctors were aware of this technology. I copied the article for all of them. As a result, my cardiologist was so impressed with the article that he has made sure that I am now receiving EECP treatments which are improving my overall health and endurance. This is why I read Life Extension magazine, to discover new ideas not reported on anywhere else.

Sun Protection

Sun Protection

Living in Arizona, I try to stay out of the sun (almost impossible) in order to avoid skin cancer which is very common out here. So I was very interested to read in your magazine about an oral sun block. At first I thought there is no such thing. But in your article everything was backed up by scientific studies. Thank you for this innovative information.

Diabetes Lifestyle

Diabetes Lifestyle

With every issue of Life Extension, I learn something new. My sister has diabetes which is controlled by oral medication and lifestyle. However, neither us knew about the dangers of glycation until we read your article about glycation and benfotiamine by Dr. Goepp. We have now changed our cooking habits and no longer eat browned meats. In addition, we have added benfotiamine to our daily vitamin programs as well. Keep up the good work.

Physician’s Choice

Physician’s Choice

The other day in my doctor’s office I saw that he had a copy of Life Extension on his desk. I was surprised as he is a somewhat conventional doctor. When I mentioned it he said that he likes to read it because he learns about subjects they never taught him in medical school. I was pleased because now I have a better partner to discuss my health programs with.
