Update on The Gallo Raid

 In the January 1996 issue of LIFE EXTENSION Magazine, we reported on the false arrest of LEF members Paul Gallo and his roommate Eugene Brill off Oradell N.J., who had been summoned to the post office on August 21, 1994 to sign a release for a package of DHEA.
We reported how to men were then arrested, finger printed, had their mug shots taken, were interrogated, and were finally thrown in to jail for alleged possession of a controlled dangerous substance (DHEA). We discussed the absurdity of the arrests in detail, including the fact that DHEA is no more than anabolic steroid than cholesterol is. Two experts provided written affidavits attesting to these facts.
We discussed the fact that an in-depth search proved beyond any doubt that DHEA has never been scheduled as a controlled dangerous substance either at the federal level or in the State of New Jersey. At the conclusion of last month's report, we stated that LEF attorney Ralph Futetola had filed a motion to dismiss the case because the state clearly did not have authority to take this action. As we want to press the state prosecutor had not yet officially responded.
LEF Forces States to Back Off! All Charges Dropped!
We are pleased to announce that the state was forced drop all charges against Mr.Gallo, who is 75 years old and just wants to lead his life in peace. We wish Mr.Gallo a long and happy life, free of any more Gestapo tactics from the police. Note that in the release we asserted that DHEA is a dietary supplement under PL 103-427, the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1995. This is the truth!
No Further Police Action Against DHEA
We have yet to hear any further reports of action against DHEA in other states, and can only conclude that the Bergen County Narcotics Strike Force was badly misinformed as to the legal status of DHEA.
