| Ipriflavone, also called 7-isopropoxyisoflavone, is synthesized from
the soy isoflavone, daidzein. It is found naturally in bee propolis, a
nutrient made by honeybees. Studies have shown ipriflavone will enhance
the effect of other bone-preserving agents such as vitamin D.1*
Ipriflavone facilitates the movement of nutrients into and out of muscles
and bones that would otherwise be stored as fat. It also increases the
uptake of phosphorus and calcium in the bone, and stimulates bone-building
osteoblasts by enhancing calcitonin, a hormone that functions in calcium
metabolism.*
Ipriflavone seems to be safe and well tolerated based on the numerous
human studies and the more than 2,769 patients that participated in trials.
Overall, Ipriflavone can be considered a promising nutrient for bone density
and muscular enhancement.*
