In 1971, then President Nixon declared "War Against Cancer" and upped government funding for cancer to one billion dollars a year. Ever since then, there has been more government funding by far for cancer research than for any other type of biomedical research. The result, however, has been disastrous. More people are now getting and dying from cancer than in 1971 and the "established" methods of cancer treatment--surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy--have been shown to be sorely lacking in effectiveness. In response to the need for better cancer treatments, The Foundation has investigated and now recommends alternative protocols for several types of cancer, and alternative practitioners who are breaking new ground in treating cancer. These treatments should only be tried under the care of a physician (oncologist) who specializes in treating cancer patients!

• Breast Cancer - Studies suggest that many forms of breast cancer are caused by a deficiency of the hormones Melatonin and progesterone. We suggest that those with breast cancer augment immune function and inhibit abnormal breast cancer cell proliferation by taking 10 to 50 mg. of Melatonin every night at bedtime. Those with estrogen-dependent cancers should also apply a 1/4 teaspoon of topical progesterone cream to a different part of the body every day including the wrists, thighs, breast, face, etc. Vitamin supplements include 4000 IU of vitamin D3 and 100,000 IU of beta-carotene.
• Lung Cancer - A soon to be released study shows that 93% of people with terminal non-small cell lung cancer are still alive after two years of taking a patented chinese herbal formula. An immune-boosting therapy consisting of 10-50 mg. of Melatonin along with low doses of the prescription drug Interleukin 2 (3 million IU injected subcutaneously six out of seven nights for six weeks) should also be considered. • Prostate Cancer - All prostate cancers should first be reduced with complete hormone blocking therapy. This involves first taking the prescription drug flutamide for at least a week and then initiating a monthly injection of lupron. The patients should then remain on this testosterone-dihydrotestosterone-blocking regimen for at least six months before deciding whether to undergo surgery, radiation, cryoablation or wait-and-see therapies. Monthly PSA tests should be done to measure the effectiveness of these therapies. Combined hormone blocking therapy will often lower PSA levels to under 1 indicating that you have temporary controlled prostate cancer cell proliferation. 4000 IU of vitamin D3 daily is also suggested.

All-Purpose Alternative Cancer Treatments

• Bursynsk Clinici - Patients with certain forms of terminal cancer have been saved by Dr. Bursynski's patented antineoplastins. Antineoplastin therapy is in the FDA's drug approval process, but Dr. Bursynski makes this therapy available now, despite the threat of incarceration he faces for selling an "unapproved drug." It appears to work especially well against brain cancers.
• Dr. Arnold Smith - The immune system is weakened in cancer patients, but Dr. Smith has developed a synchronized hormone replacement therapy that restores healthy immune function and boosts survival rates in cancer patients who are usually classified as "terminal." Dr. Smith is a radiation oncologist who uses a wide range of innovative therapies to treat his cancer patients. Most of his successes has been in treating lung cancer patients.
• Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez - A radical alteration in diet has been shown to be an effective therapy for many cancer patients. Dr. Gonzalez prescribes a strict vegetarian diet, megadoses of nutrient supplements, and coffee enemas as a primary cancer therapy. Dr. Gonzalez does not usually accept patients who have undergone chemotherapy as he has found that the destruction to the immune system caused by chemotherapy cannot be reversed.
• Dr. Alex Sun - There are several herbal cancer therapies that have shown some degree of success. Dr. Sun's herbal "soup" is shipped frozen in 30 individual bowls via Federal Express. This therapy has been approved by the U.S. Government's Office of Alternative Medicine. For nine years, Dr. Sun has been successfully treating a wide range of cancer patients with his patented herbal "soup" along with antioxidant nutrient supplements. This therapy works well for medium stage cancers, but has not work ed well in end-stage cancer patients. The chances of this therapy working are lessened if chemotherapy has been used extensively. Success has been documented in lung cancer cases and anecdotal reports have found it to be effective in treating other cancers.
