Using, IAT (IMMUNOAUGMENTIVE THERAPY), patients receive injections of sera with naturally occurring proteins to trigger a reaction to kill tumor cells. Thus rather than treating cancer, IAT directly stimulates the patient's immune system to make a broadly based attack on metastatic disease even in widely separated body sites. The Burzynski Research Institute is conducting FDA-authorized clinical trials of antineoplastons in the treatment of cancer, HIV infection and autoimmune diseases. Brain tumors, prostate, breast, lung, colon and non-Hodgkins are among some of the cancer types treated. Max Gerson M.D., developed a diet that initially cured his headaches and found the diet also cured tuberculosis. He published articles in the medical journals regarding his diet and tuberculosis. In 1938, Dr. Gerson passed his boards in the state of New York, where for the next 20 years he worked with terminally ill cancer patients. In 1958 Gerson published' "A Cancer Therapy- Results of 50 Cases". In 1959 Gerson died and was eulogized by his long-time friend Albert Schweitzer M.D., who said "I see in him one of the most emminent geniuses in the history of medicine..."
The work of Dr. Max Gerson is carried on by his daughter, Charlotte Gerson.
