The Carl Pfeiffer Treatment Center is a not-for-profit outpatient facility dedicated to assisting people with biochemical imbalances, with emphasis on behavior dysfunctions, learning disorders, depression and mental illness. The center is an outgrowth of 20 years of research which has shown strong evidence of the role of chemical imbalances in behavior disorders, ADD, ADHD, learning disabilities and hyperactivity. They have identified trace mental patterns which predominate in persons with behavioral or learning problems but are relatively uncommon in the general public. About 70 percent of the patients served are young people. Many have academic problems that have previously been diagnosed as learning disabled, hyperactive, or dyslexic. For most patients, the treatment process consists of two visits, followed by annual consultations. The first treatment usually takes place four months later.

The Crystal Pines Research Institute, is a non-profit institute formed to serve children and adults seeking alternative medical treatment through biological medicine, and in particular, cellular therapy. Historical perspective: The Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine (LPISM) was co-founded by Linus Pauling in 1973 when he became Professor Emeritus in the Department of Chemistry at Stanford University. LPISM was located in Menlo Park, California, until the winter of 1980-1981, when it moved to Palo Alto, California. At its laboratories in Palo Alto, scientists conducted research in molecular and viral carcinogenesis, cancer metastasis, genetics, aging, neurotoxicology, immunology and the roles of vitamin C and other micronutrients in human physiology, cancer, cataract, infectious diseases, heart disease and other pathologies. Dr. Pauling also continued his research in theoretical physics and chemistry, including studies in the bonding of metals and intermetallic compounds, chemical structure, the structure of atomic nuclei, and superconductivity.
In January 1996, LPISM and OSU reached an agreement to transfer LPISM's research activities and assets to OSU to establish the Linus Pauling Institute.
