Aluminum is ubiquitous in our environment; it is the third most prevalent element in the earth's crust. The aluminum we are exposed to is in products we use, such as antiperspirants; in the water we drink; and utensils we use, such as foil and cookware.
People with chronic renal failure, especially if they are on long-term hemodialysis, are particularly susceptible to accumulation of aluminum in their bones.
Fasting is not required. Take all medications as prescribed. This test is also part of the Heavy Metals Panel (LC100003)
