Until now the loss of muscle strength has been an unavoidable fact of normal aging. Research shows that humans undergo a 5%-10% loss of total muscle mass each decade after age 40.1 That loss of strength can have life threatening consequences. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, injuries sustained during falls as a result of lost functional strength are the number one cause of accidental death in people over 65.2 Now there's something you can do about it ... with Pure Plant Protein.

Published studies have established that aging individuals need more dietary protein than younger people to promote healthy muscle mass as they age.3-5 The problem is that many older people are told to limit animal protein intake, which carries the risk of toxins, saturated fats, elevated cholesterol, and other health threats. Now you can obtain the protein you need in a highly digestible, vegetarian form with new Pure Plant Protein vegetarian formula. No dietary protein mix on the market today rivals the benefits offered by this ultra-digestible, low-glycemic blend ... free of gluten, soy, wheat, and dairy.

We took a unique combination of high quality pea, and rice proteins, and added metabolically active branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine), glycine and glutamine to form a complete protein without animal products or common allergens. Included is an array of prebiotic compounds to maintain healthy intestinal flora. The result is a formula that offers you all these health-promoting benefits:

  • Support for recovery after workouts
  • Protein free of dairy, soy, wheat, and gluten for individuals who do not tolerate these dietary components well
  • Low fat, no cholesterol
  • No artificial sweeteners, xylitol, maltitol, or sorbitol (sugar alcohols)
  • Mixes with cold water into a full-bodied drink that's neither thin nor unsatisfying
  • Contains oat beta-glucans that help reduce after-meal blood glucose surges
  • Contains prebiotic inulins, the nutrients beneficial bacteria thrive on. These inulins are complex, lasting longer in the digestive tract and enabling beneficial bacteria to distribute further into the colon.

One scoop supplies the complete range of protein and nutrients your body needs to support healthy muscle as you age. Consuming this powdered drink mix with meals can enable you to reduce the intake of fat and carbohydrate calories that contribute to unwanted weight gain.

This supplement should be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular exercise program. Results may vary.

Comments about Life Extension Pure Plant Protein, Net Wt. 540 g (1.19 lb. or 19.05 oz.):

I've always liked this product, but I am now disturbed by the statement on the container. It basically says there's a chemical known in California to cause birth defects or other reproductive issues. What chemical/ingredient is it?

I can not recommend this product if it has negative reproductive effects, which are unidentified.

Comments about Life Extension Pure Plant Protein, Net Wt. 540 g (1.19 lb. or 19.05 oz.):

I have used Pure Plant Protein almost daily since it came out via LEF. However, this latest formula, which I mix with almond milk & fat free Greek yogurt, I could not drink. The fructose is gone, but sunflower oil, mod. food starch, gum Arabic, xanthan gum, & luo han guo extract have been added. Sodium & potassium have been reduced & the protein/amino blend has been increased, as has the volume, from 450 grams to 540 grams, as has the scoop itself. There are still 15 servings/tub. I will try some other sweetener with it.

this is a good way to add needed protein to my diet. the flavor isn't the greatest in plain water, so I either add some chocolate and some palm sugar or add the powder to our fruit smoothies.

The taste was great until the last shipment. Now it has a cloying unpleasant taste. I plan to check it in the future one time to see if it has returned to its prior flavor. If it has not, I will not purchase it again.

Very unhappy. Liked the old formula plant protein powder. Got redirected that this was direct replacement - NOT!
Who wants everything so sweet? I go to LEF to get pure stuff. Protein please, no extra flavorings. Sweetened products (and that includes stevia) need prominent labeling. When making a 30gm protein shake, need 2 scoops of this powder - gag city.

My Naturopathic doctor recommended that I consume more protein. She was familiar with Life Extension products & suggested I try this pure plant protein rather than continue with whey. I do hope that the "new" formula is tastier than the one I have which is ok tho I recommend taking it with cherry or pomegrante juice as with cold water is tastes like peas, not exactly unpleasant but I drink it quickly. Overall, a decent product though not a meal replacement. I would have rated it 3.5 stars as good product but tastes so-so.
