This test is used to evaluate levels of coagulant factor VIII. A deficiency in Factor VIII is known as hemophilia A. It is the most common of the hereditary bleeding disorders. Elevated levels are associated with the development of the geriatric syndrome of frailty.
Fasting is not required for this test. Take all medications as prescribed.
